If you are processing rushes, cuts or masters with non-domestic audio for pre-cut, sync pulls or subtitling, you can opt to use Limecraft for translating the transcription from the original language into your language of choice. Limecraft will not just translate, but also consistently manage the timing of every word through translation. By doing so, we make sure you can use the translated transcript as well as a basis for your pre-cut or automated subtitles.
Before you begin
Before you can use the translation function, please make sure you are working in a registered account and that you have one or more content fragments available with transcribed audio.
Also, translation is a premium service which is not included by default by a standard subscription. Please make sure your account is sufficiently provisioned with translation credits. If not, refer to your local account manager or get in touch with us (firstname.lastname@example.org).
How to translate a given transcript
To translate a given transcription, use the drop-down function above the transcription and hit "+ Add a new language" as indicated below.
A new window opens and asks you to select the language in which you would like to translate the transcription. As soon as you start typing the language (using the English name of the language), a list of available language options pops up. Select the language of your choice and hit "AUTO TRANSLATE".
Translating the transcript should take no more than a few seconds, so there's no need to to start another task in the meanwhile or go for a cup of coffee. As soon as the job is finished, the newly added language is shown on top but you can go back to the original language anytime by using the same dropdown in top of the transcript.
Key Advantages of using Limecraft for Translation
The key benefit of using Limecraft for translating your transcripts is the timing. As opposed to other solutions for machine translation solutions, Limecraft ensures consistent management of timings so that you can use the translated transcript for creating sync pulls or translated subtitles like in the video below.
