The Subtitle Editor settings enable customized configuration of the timing or spotting rules of the subtitles. By default the Subtitle Editor uses advanced timing rules based on the BBC style guide.


Whether you let Limecraft automatically cut the transcript into broadcast-grade subtitles or create them yourself, they follow certain timing rules. However, timing rules ('spotting rules') can differ per producer, per genre of content or per distribution channel. 

The default settings of Limecraft Subtitle Editor apply the BBC style guide for subtitles

The settings for creating templates with customized Timing Rules are controled in the workspace settings and available for users with Workspace admin level permissions.
