When working with Limecraft Edge, consistency and efficiency are key, especially across distributed teams. Destination Templates help streamline ingest workflows and reduce the risk of errors by saving your most commonly used settings for future use.

This article explains how to set up and use Destination Templates for ingesting media into Limecraft Workspace or a shared storage location.

Note: You need Workspace Admin permissions to access and manage these settings.

Creating a Destination Template

  • Go to the Edge Ingest settings in your Workspace settings.
  • Click “Add Template” to create a new template.
  • Fill in the relevant details, such as transcode profiles and destination paths.
  • Click Save.

Once saved, the template will be immediately available for your team when working in the Edge desktop application.

Optional Settings

  • To use this template by default in Edge (so users don’t have to manually select it each time), tick the checkbox ‘Use this template as the default destinations’.

  • To enforce the use of this template and prevent users from changing the destinations, tick the checkbox ‘Force these destinations’.

Setting Up a Destination Template for Shared Storage

To use a shared storage location as a destination in Edge, the volume needs to be set up as a placeholder in the workspace settings and mapped in the Edge system settings. Let's have a look in detail.

  • Click "Add Volume"
  • Assign it a name and set the type to ‘shared’.
  • Make sure that the same shared storage is configured and labelled identically in the Edge system settings on each workstation involved in the project.

  • Once your shared storage is properly mapped in your Edge application, go back to the Edge Ingest settings in your Workspace.
  • Create a new Destination Template, selecting your shared volume as the destination.

This setup ensures your team can reliably offload, transfer, and transcode media to the shared storage with minimal setup per job.
