You can use Limecraft to automatically convert spoken audio into timed text. AI transcription is an automated process and thus prone to errors. This article explains you how to use the Limecraft Transcriber app for post-editing the automatically generated result.

1. Highlight areas with lower confidence

As a result of AI transcription, each word is recognised with a certain confidence. For efficient post-editing, you can use the confidence score functionality to highlight the words with a higher probability of wrong recognition. This allows you to quickly spot areas that require your attention.

2. Editing the Transcript

Now, assuming you want to post-edit the transcript, you need to enter the EDIT mode before you can make any changes. Please make sure you have proper permissions to to so. If not, contact your production administrator.

3. Translating your Transcript

On the upper left corner of the editor, you can find a dropdown list which reveals the present language versions of your transcript, and which allows you to translate into more languages.

4. Mark complete

Optionally, you can mark the transcript as completed. Depending on how the workspace is set up, marking the transcript of a clip as completed can have different purposes or effects.

  • It allows your team to search for clips that are completed and thus are suitable for further processing;
  • the mark completed status can be used to trigger next steps in the process, like exporting the transcript data to 3rd party applications (e.g. Avid MediaCentral), or initiating the subtitling process


5. Export transcript

The export functionality gives you different options and formats for exporting the transcript. Exporting a transcript renders a file with transcript fragments ot the clip at hand. It is also possible to create a script containing transcription and metadata from a collection of clips or subclips. In addition to the typical file formats for export options with or without metadata, you can create an export supported by Avid ScriptSync.
