You can easily manage which collections a clip is assigned to. Note that a clip can be linked to several collections at the same time. Assigning it to a new collection does not automatically break the link from the current collection.

Let's discuss the options for assigning a clip and how to manage to which collections a clip is assigned to.

1. Assigning the clip to a new collection

Option 1

Drag the clip to another collection. Select the clip in question by clicking the dragging symbol and drag it to the new collection.

Note: The clip will still keep its link to the current collection. Below you can read how to unassign it from the previous collection.

Option 2

Assign the clip to another collection.

Firstly, click the little three dots to expose more actions. Click 'Assign to collection'.

In the dialog, you can select or create a new collection.

Note: If you cannot find the collection that you are looking for, this will indicate that there are too many collections to show in the list. To find your collection, begin to type it in the search field.

2. Unlinking from the previous collection

Assigning a clip to a new collection does not automatically unlink it from the previous collection. You have two options how to unlink it.

Note: if you don't break the link with the previous collection, then you will simply have the clip in both collections.

Option 1

Select the clip that you want to unlink and use the unlink button on the upper selection to unlink it.

Option 2

Manage the collections that a clip is assigned to via the assign window.

Click on the assign button to open the dialog.

In this dialogue, you can see which collections the clip is assigned to. Unlink the clip, by clicking the red x.
