Upon creation and editing of subtitles using the Limecraft Subtitle Editor, you can export them as a file in different file formats. When exporting subtitles as an STL file, Limecraft supports a range of advanced options. This article extends the former and explains in detail the different options when exporting subtitles as an STL file.

Upon export subtitles as a file, when selecting STL as your preferred subtitle file format, the export dialogue window expands allowing you to select from the following advanced options.


  • Display Standard - allows you to select between open subtitles, Teletext level-1, or Teletext or level-2. (More info on different teletext levels via World System Teletext)
  • Text Justification - allows you to manipulate the horizontal alignment (left, centred, or right justified)
  • Display Standard - allows you to indicate the type of timecode (SMPTE or video timecode)
  • Language - allows you to indicate the main language of the subtitles.
  • Vertical Positioning - allows you to set the vertical position, Top and Bottom, by defining a blank space measured by a number of lines.

In case you set the Display Standarde to Teletext Level-1 or Teletext Level-2, a few more options are shown in the bottom part of the dialogue window.

  • Export with color tags.
  • Use a box around the text.
  • Use double height for the text.
