By default, Limecraft creates subtitles optimised for maximum accessibility by visually indicating speaker changes using colours. However, if you prefer not to use colours in your subtitles, you can disable them via the configuration of subtitle presets. Here's how.

Assuming you don't want to use colours changes to indicate speaker changes, you have two options. First of all you can avoid the use of colours in the first place - i.e. not using colours at all. Secondly, you can use colours in the editor but not include them upon export of a subtitle file. The latter ensures you can change your mind at any point.

Option 1: Using Subtitle Presets with a Single Colour

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > Subtitle Editor Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Subtitle Preset section.
  3. Edit one of the existing presets or create a new preset by cloning an existing one or starting from scratch with "New preset".
  4. In the Text Style section, remove all colours except the one you want to use.
  5. Don't forget to save your changes

Once this preset is created, you can select it when creating subtitles to ensure they appear in just one consistent colour (i.e., no colour changes to indicate speaker turns).

Option 2: Export Subtitles without Colour Tags

Upon export of subtitles as a file, you can opt out to include colour tags for most file formats.
