Indicating speaker changes is often essential especially when accessibility needs to be ensured. Limecraft supports both colours and characters (such as a dash) to signal speaker changes. You can let Limecraft automatically mark speaker changes when creating subtitles using the automatic process, as well as when importing your own subtitles.

Limecraft uses speaker recognition in transcription to gather the necessary data for identifying speaker changes in subtitles.

Steps to ensure speaker changes are indicated correctly


  1. Workspace settings – Choose a subtitle preset that matches your preferred speaker-change indicator (colours or dash).
  2. Transcription accuracy – Ensure that the transcription is set to the highest accuracy; this also improves speaker segmentation.
  3. Review segmentation – Before generating automatic subtitles, verify the speaker segmentation in the transcript so speaker changes are applied correctly during subtitle creation.
  4. Importing subtitle files – If speaker changes are not already included in your subtitle file, make user of the Advanced options to enable Speaker segmentation. Note: this triggers a transcription workflow to collect the data needed for signalling speaker changes.
