On new installations of macOS, the Rosetta compatibility layer may be missing. This can cause issues when installing Limecraft Edge, since Rosetta is required for components such as ffmpeg and MongoDB, which are essential for Edge to function.

If Rosetta is not installed, you may see the following error message:

“Unknown error, something went wrong.”

To resolve this issue, you need to install Rosetta before proceeding with the Edge installation.

How to install Rosetta

  1. Automatic installation: Launch any application that requires Rosetta. macOS will automatically prompt you to install it. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Manual installation: If you prefer to install Rosetta manually, follow Apple’s official instructions here.

Once Rosetta is installed, restart the Edge installation process.
