Using the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, journalists and editors have high-quality subtitles at their fingertips. The panel acts as a remote control, sends clips to Limecraft for processing in the background, and returns subtitles on the timeline in seconds.

With the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro you get access to AI assisted subtitling tools from Limecraft without leaving your trusted workspace in Adobe Premiere Pro. 


Using AI assisted subtitling, anyone can create high quality subtitles efficiently and effortlessly in seconds. State of the art, using configurable spotting rules, properly segmented, and sychrononised with the rhythm of the edit as one would expect.

Before you start - Installing the Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro


To install the Limecraft plugin, browse to Adobe Exchange and download the Limecraft plugin.

Starting the Panel


After starting Adobe Premiere and opening your project, open the Limecraft panel by selecting 

Window > Extensions > Limecraft.

Choosing Your Limecraft Environment

If you use the main Limecraft environment (platform.limecraft.com), please skip this step.


If you are a user of an on-premises platform, the first thing you need to do is change the environment from the default Limecraft platform to the one you want to work on.


To do this:


1. Select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu located in the top right corner.

2. Enter your preferred environment.




Limecraft login using the panel

Upon opening of the Limecraft plugin, you will see a login page. The 'Log in with Flow' button redirects you to the Limecraft login web page in your default browser. You will be prompted to log in, after which you can close the page and continue in Adobe Premiere.  If you have previously logged in via the Limecraft panel, this step will be skipped.


NOTE: You need to have a Limecraft subscription in order to use the Panel.

Using the Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro


Using the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro you can: 

  • Select and access one of your Limecraft Workspaces;
  • upload local files from Adobe Premiere to Limecraft;
  • render sequences in the background and send these as a proxy to Limecraft;
  • instruct Limecraft to create subtitles by using AI transcription and subtitle spotting;
  • download and import subtitles from Limecraft to your Adobe Premiere workspace.


Below we will show each functionality in further detail. 


Select and Get Access to your Limecraft Workspaces


Upon successful login, all accessible Limecraft Workspaces are listed in the Limecraft panel.

By selecting a specific workspace, you get an overview of the clips that are available in that workspace.

Uploading Files or Sequences from Adobe Premiere Pro to your Limecraft Workspace


Upon successful login and after accessing a Limecraft Workspace, you can upload individual files or sequences from Adobe Premiere Pro to Limecraft. To do so, use the upload button on the top right corner.

  • Upload local file opens a file dialog you can use to select a file to upload to Limecraft.
  • Upload Sequence renders the current sequence with Adobe Media Encoder via a preset, and uploads the rendered clip to Limecraft Flow. 


NOTE: Currently there is one default encoder profile with standard 1920x1080 profile.


Accessing and Processing Clips on Limecraft via the panel


Upon successful login and after uploading a sequence from Adobe Premiere Pro, you can instruct Limecraft to process the item via the action menu (the three dots to the left of the clip).

  • Import media downloads and imports the clip from Limecraft to the Premiere bin.
  • Open clip in browser opens the clip details page from Limecraft in the browser.
  • Open transcript in a browser opens the clip transcript page from Limecraft in the browser.
  • Open subtitles in browser opens the clip subtitles page from Limecraft in the browser. 
  • Delete deletes the clip from Limecraft. Warning: this cannot be undone! 
  • Create subtitles starts a subtitling workflow in Limecraft



Accessing the Clip Details


Upon successfully logging in and selecting a workspace, you can access the details of a clip including transcripts and subtitles by selecting an individual clip. You can also preview the selected clip or view a list of transcripts and subtitles available on Limecraft.

Downloading or Importing Subtitles from Limecraft to Adobe


You can access and retrieve the subtitles via the subtitles section in the clip details.

  • Open in browser opens the clip subtitles in the Limecraft Subtitle Editor, which allows you to post-edit the subtitles before downloading them.
  • Import subtitle downloads and imports the subtitles file from Limecraft straight into the media bin of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Download subtitle opens a file dialog that allows you to download the subtitle file to a local drive.
