Using the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, journalists and editors have high-quality subtitles at their fingertips. The panel acts as a remote control, sending clips to Limecraft for processing in the background, and returns subtitles on the timeline in seconds.


With the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro you get access to AI assisted subtitling tools from Limecraft without leaving your trusted workspace in Adobe Premiere Pro. 


Using AI assisted subtitling, anyone can create high quality subtitles efficiently and effortlessly in seconds. The subtitles are created automatically using configurable spotting rules, properly segmented, and synchronised with the rhythm of the edit just as one would expect.


NOTE: In order to use Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premier Pro, you need to have a Limecraft subscription.

Before You Begin - Installing the Panel and Logging In


To install the Limecraft plugin, browse to Adobe Exchange and download the Limecraft plugin. Follow the steps to install the extension.

Starting the Panel


In Adobe Premiere Pro, open the Limecraft panel by selecting Window > Extensions > Limecraft.

Choosing Your Limecraft Environment

By default, the panel accesses the main Limecraft system (https://platform.limecraft.com). In case you are using a different system, you need to configure the panel to make sure it accesses the right platform.


To do this:


1. Select "Preferences" from the dropdown menu located in the top right corner.

2. Enter your preferred environment.

3. Save

Limecraft login using the panel

Upon opening of the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, you will be prompted to log in, after which you can close the page and continue working in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Using the Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro


Using the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro you can: 

  • select and access one of your Limecraft Workspaces;
  • upload local files, sequences, or project files to Limecraft;
  • organise files into collections that are synced with Limecraft;
  • upload files into collections that are synced with Limecraft;
  • render sequences in the background and send these as a proxy to Limecraft;
  • create subtitles by using AI transcription and subtitle spotting;
  • download and import subtitles from Limecraft to your Adobe Premiere workspace.


Select and Get Access to your Limecraft Workspaces


Upon successful login, your Limecraft Workspaces are listed.

Upon selection of a specific workspace, you get the list of clips in that workspace.

Working with Collections

On the panel, you have the option to organise files into collections. Clicking on "All Clips" opens a dropdown menu displaying all the available categories.

Note: Categories of collections are managed by the Workspace Admin in Workspace Settings > Library Settings


Select a collection by clicking on it to open the Collection Overview. The next level provides an overview of all the sub-collections within that collection.

You can rename, delete, and add collections at the collection overview. To add a new collection, use "+ Add New". To edit or delete a (sub)collection, click on the three dots ("...")next to the collection name.

Uploading Files or Sequences from Adobe to your Limecraft Workspace

Upon successful login and accessing a Limecraft Workspace, you can upload individual files or sequences from Adobe Premiere Pro to Limecraft. To do so, use the upload button on the top right corner.

  • Upload local file opens a file dialog you can use to select a file to upload to Limecraft.
  • Upload Sequence renders the current sequence with Adobe Media Encoder via a preset, and uploads the rendered clip to Limecraft Flow. 
  • You can also use drag and drop to upload files via the panel window. 


NOTE: Currently there is one default encoder profile with standard 1920x1080 profile.


Uploading Files or Sequences in a Specific Collection

When you have selected a (sub)collection, you can upload files and sequences to it using the upload button in the right upper corner.

Alternatively, you can drag and drop files in the window.


Accessing and Processing Clips on Limecraft via the Panel

From the list of clips visible in the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, you can instruct Limecraft to process the item via the action menu (the three dots to the left of the clip).

  • Import media downloads and imports the clip from Limecraft to the Premiere bin.
  • Open clip in browser opens the clip details page from Limecraft in the browser.
  • Open transcript in a browser opens the clip transcript page from Limecraft in the browser.
  • Open subtitles in browser opens the clip subtitles page from Limecraft in the browser. 
  • Delete deletes the clip from Limecraft. Warning: this cannot be undone! 
  • Create subtitles starts a subtitling workflow in Limecraft


Important note: when creating subtitles, Limecraft will use one of the specific sets of 'spotting rules'. Spotting rules refer to the specific styling and timing parameters for creating subtitles. By default, Limecraft uses the BBC style guide. In case you need different style or segmentation parameters, please consult your Workspace Administrator.



Accessing the Clip Details

From the list of clips visible in the Limecraft panel for Adobe Premiere Pro, you can access the details of a clip including transcripts and subtitles by selecting an individual clip. You can also preview the selected clip or view a list of transcripts and subtitles available on Limecraft.

Downloading or Importing Subtitles from Limecraft to Adobe


You can access and retrieve the subtitles via the subtitles section in the clip details. "Download" means

  • Open in browser opens the clip subtitles in the Limecraft Subtitle Editor, which allows you to post-edit the subtitles before downloading them.
  • Import subtitle downloads and imports the subtitles file from Limecraft straight into the media bin of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Download subtitle opens a file dialog that allows you to download the subtitle file to a local drive.
