Limecraft Delivery Workspace is an online space that gathers all elements of a media content delivery into various predefined, actionable requests, giving all stakeholders an instant and clear overview of the requested information and materials. The Workspace Dashboard is an efficient way to monitor the overall status of the delivery process or any specific request.

This article discusses the steps of completing a delivery request by the content producer. The requirements for completing a delivery request depends on the type of request.

Before you Begin - What is a Delivery Workspace, and What is a Delivery Request?

Congratulations, you have been invited by a broadcaster or media company to use their Delivery Workspace based on the Limecraft platform.

From your point of view, as a content producer or supplier to the workspace, the Delivery Workspace is a shared control panel that simplifies how you send finished programmes and all related materials - including but not restricted to subtitle files, trailers, and metadata - to a broadcaster or platform.

Instead of juggling emails, file-sharing tools, and spreadsheets, the Delivery Workspace gives you one secure place where you can:

  • Upload your deliverables (video, audio, metadata, subtitles, artwork, etc.)
  • Track deadlines and status updates
  • Get feedback or approvals directly from the broadcaster
  • Ensure everything is in the right format and meets required standards

It cuts out confusion and last-minute fixes. Everyone involved - producers, broadcasters, and post-production teams - can see exactly what’s been delivered, what’s still missing, and what needs attention. In short: it saves time, reduces mistakes, and makes delivering media content more structured and transparent.

When entering the workspace, you will notice that it is typically made up of different deliverables, or individual 'Delivery Requests' or simply 'Requests'.

1. Open the Request

Search or navigate to the specific deliverable that you want to work on and simply click it to open. You can find more information on navigating the delivery workspace elsewhere.

2. Fill in the Metadata as Required

This can be anything from filling out metadata to uploading an audio or video file or a mix of both. The request form guides you to supply the required data and files.

3. Uploading the Actual Media Content

Uploading media content can mean using a service such as Aspera Connect, or uploading media to Limecraft storage depending on the specific configuration. The request form will guide you.

Once you have selected and sent the files, you can monitor the status of the delivery in the request window.

Note: At this point there might be automatic validation that will probe the file and ensure that it conforms to the requirements.

As a result, there can be an error message guiding you to take the necessary actions to approve the file.

4. Submit Request

Once the metadata on the request form are completed, and the actual media are uploaded, you can submit the deliverables for review.

Submitting the request is essential in order to send a notification to the broadcaster or distributor. This will change the request status to 'In Review'.

5. Review

At this stage, it is possible for authorised team members of both the producer as well as of the broadcaster to use of the Limecraft Review functionalities, assuming this functionality has been enabled or not. In case of doubt, contact your production coordinator for instructions.

6. Request Approval

As a next step, authorised staff at the side of the broadcaster will either approve, reject, or partially reject the deliverables. In case of (partial) rejection, the broadcaster will indicate why and invite you to review your submission.

Assuming that eventually this Delivery Request is completed, it is reflected on the progress bars on the dashboard, and team members can search for approved deliverables using the search function.
